Vmware - How upgrade Vmware 3.5 to 5.5 on old HP Dl380 G5

During this year I needed to upgrade Vmware 3.5 to 5.5 on a server HP Dl380 G5

Trying to install it I cant't because it wasn't supported.

So, first step was relative HP Firmware update.

After that ugrade from Vmware 3.5 to Vmware 5.0 and finally 5.5 went well but, creating relative Windows 2008 R2 64 bit I got following error:

This Virtual Machine is configured for 64-bit guest operating systems. However, 64-bit operation is not possible.
This host is VT-capable, but VT is disabled.
VT might be disabled if it has been disabled in the BIOS settings or the host has not been power-cycled since changing this setting.
(1) Verify that the BIOS settings enable VT and disable 'trusted execution'
(2) Power-cycle the host if either of these BIOS settings have been changed.
(3) Power-cycle the host if you have not done so since installing VMware ESX.
(4) Update the host's BIOS to the latest version.
For more detailed information, see http://vmware.com/info?id=152.
Continue without 64-bit support?
So, latest tips was to enable VT-d in your system

Here are relative steps:

  • Reboot your server and go into the BIOS by pressing F9.
  • Go to "Advanced options > Processor Options" and enable these two sub-options:
    • "No-Execute Memory Protection" and "Intel(R) Virtualization Technology"
