Program - How to backup exact copies of USB flash drives

Use ImageUSB to write an image to multiple USB Flash Drives! Designed for use with OSForensics.

ImageUSB is a free utility which lets you write an image concurrently to multiple USB Flash Drives. Capable of creating exact bit-level copies of USB Flash Drive (UFDs), ImageUSB is an extremely effective tool for the mass duplication of UFDs. ImageUSB also supports writing of an ISO file byte by byte directly to an USB drive (*). ImageUSB can also be used to install OSFClone to a USB Drive for use with PassMark OSForensics™.

With ImageUSB from PassMark Software, you can easily create exact image copies of any USB flash drives and store them on your PC.

Plug in the USB drive you want to back up and click on ‘Refresh Drives’. You should see your USB flash drive, referred to as a UFD by the program, at the top of the application window. Select it and then ‘Create from UFD’ below. For security, you can also select Post Image Verification to ensure that your backup matches the original UFD. This will create an image file of your UFD with the extension .bin.
You can now copy this image on to another UFD, or multiple UFDs simultaneously by selecting them all before clicking the Write to UFD button. In our example, we have plugged in four UFDs at the same time for duplication.

Unlike other USB duplication tools, ImageUSB can preserve all unused and slack space during the cloning process, including the Master Boot Record (MBR). ImageUSB can perform flawless mass duplications of all UFD images, including bootable UFDs.

CD Live - Yumi un'alternativa a Sardu per creare USB di Boot

Segnalo questa nuova programma per creare USB live al posto del già noto prodotto Sardu che era menzionato nel seguente articolo del blog:

http://www.alessandromazzanti.com/2010/04/sardu-antivirus-e-strumenti-di-gestione.html

Il nuovo prodotto si tratta di Yumi

http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/

Copio ed incollo la loro presentazione:

YUMI – Multiboot USB Creator (Windows)

YUMI (Your Universal Multiboot Installer), is the successor to MultibootISOs. It can be used to create a Multiboot USB Flash Drive containing multiple operating systems, antivirus utilities, disc cloning, diagnostic tools, and more. Contrary to MultiBootISO's which used grub to boot ISO files directly from USB, YUMI uses syslinux to boot extracted distributions stored on the USB device, and reverts to using grub to Boot Multiple ISO files from USB, if necessary.

Aside from a few distributions, all files are stored within the Multiboot folder, making for a nicely organized Multiboot Drive that can still be used for other storage purposes.

Creating a YUMI Multiboot MultiSystem Bootable USB Flash Drive
YUMI works much like Universal USB Installer, except it can be used to install more than one distribution to run from your USB. Distributions can also be uninstalled using the same tool!

YUMI - Multiboot USB Creator
YUMI's Main Multiboot Boot Menu
YUMI - Multiboot Boot Menu
YUMI-0.0.9.3.exe – March 20, 2013 – Changelog
Remove and combine redundant code to make updates easier. Update to support Kali Linux, and Tails 0.17.
MD5: 2CA7A62311684893FD7FB534691E52FC

How to Create a MultiBoot USB Flash Drive

  1. Run* YUMI-0.0.9.3.exe following the onscreen instructions
  2. Run the tool again to Add More ISOs/Distributions to your Drive
  3. Restart your PC setting it to boot from the USB device
  4. Select a distribution to Boot from the Menu and enjoy!
That's all there is to it. You should now be booting your favorite distributions from your custom Multi-Boot USB device!

How It Works: YUMI (Your Universal Multiboot Installer) enables each user to create their own custom Multiboot UFD containing only the distributions they want, in the order by which they are installed. A new distribution can be added to the UFD each time the tool is run.
If you run YUMI from the same location you store ISO files, they should be auto-detected (*See Known Issues Below), eliminating the need to browse for each ISO.

Other Notes: If MultibootISOs was previously used, you must reformat the drive and start over. YUMI uses Syslinux directly, and chainloads to grub only if necessary, so it is not compatible with the older Multiboot ISO tool. Although I do plan to add back most of the capabilities of MultibootISOs as time permits.
The distro uninstaller works great, but unlisted ISO's that have been added must currently be manually removed! Also note that not all Unlisted ISO's can be booted (thus adding unlisted ISO's is an unsupported option).

Poi installiamo i compilatori C/C++

yum install gcc gcc-c++ autoconf automake
yum groupinstall "Development Tools"
Al seguente link si scarica la versione 3.1
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=26837

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.0 and 6.1 x86 and x64 (Up to 4 vCPU)
  • CentOS 6.0 x86 and x64 (Up to 4 vCPU)
Una nota, se si sta usando SLES 10 SP3 / 11, or RHEL 5.2 / 5.3 / 5.4 / 5.5 è necessario usare le IC 2.1 precedenti:

Per l'installazione, dal manuale:

# mkdir /mnt/cdrom

# mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom

Copy Linux Integration Services to the virtual machine. For example:

# mkdir /opt/linux_ic_v21_rtm

# cp –R /mnt/cdrom/* /opt/linux_ic_v21_rtm

As the root user, run the following command to compile and install the synthetic drivers. A reboot is required after installation.

# cd /opt/linux_ic_v21_rtm/

# make

# make install

# reboot
