App #Stocard Alternative --> Catima

Stocard is a mobile app that allows users to store their loyalty cards digitally, helping to reduce wallet clutter. It enables users to collect rewards points and access discounts by scanning their loyalty card barcodes directly from their phones.

Unfortunately this app is no longer available and alternative app proposed did not convince me. (Klarna)

So I found an interesting open Source app (Catima) that work properly and with less privacy concerns (only problem is that card image is not automatically included but you can take loyalty card photo and override problem)

About backups are done locally and, from my perispective, I decisevely prefer this approach.

In case a scanner is not immediately available you might consider acquire document with your mobile phone camera.

Usually quality is not so good and each document will be associated to a single HD images.

Automation - Wifi Tapo Lightings

I discovered, surfing on web, these lights (that work using WiFi connection) in conjunction with Tapo App (iOS and Android) that permit to control, lightness, brightness and colors (with 16,000,000 hues to choose from)

It has scheduled timers (useful when you are out of home - Away Mode – Automatically simulate someone being at home to frighten away, unwanted visitors)

Hacker - Banking trojans

Zimperium recently published report about 10 most diffused home banking trojans, on Android OS, affecting more than 600 home banking apps.

This trojans are injected through harmless apps available on google store.

After that these apps are installed on mobile phones, and succesfully infected mobile devices, they show, to end users, similar home banking websites and work to intercept, user, password and one time passwords.

Mobile - AdBlock - Block ads from all browsers #android

Using Chrome on Android mobile phone advertisement, unwanted pop-ups, video ads, banners and so on creates several problems during normal browsing activities.

Today I searched on play store and I found an interesting app (AdBlock), for free, that creates VPN connection (*), that blocks several adv types, helps to block spyware, adware and malware (not loading infected domains) and connecting to other adv/AV Database websites that helps to block adv and malicious websites

(*) One Key functionality intercepts DNS traffic

It works very well and there is a plus version that is quite cheap.
